When was breeding Goldendoodles started? In the 1990s, breeders in both North America and Australia began crossing golden retrievers with standard poodles. The original purpose of the cross was to attempt to develop guide dogs suitable for visually impaired individuals with allergies. The goldendoodle is sometimes called a designer dog.

Do Goldendoodles shed? Most goldendoodles do have a low to non-shedding coat! Most well bred Goldendoodles are hypoallergenic and don’t shed or have little to no shedding, making them great for handlers with allergies, or those who want to avoid constantly picking up the vacuum. It is important to realize, however, that all dogs have dander (dead skin cells), saliva, and urine, where allergens exist, so there is no guarantee a Goldendoodle won't set off an allergic reaction. This is why many consider the goldendoodle to be a great option for people with allergies!

What are the grooming requirements for a GoldendoodleDoodle grooming is a crucial parameter considered while raising pets at home. Daily home maintenance includes combing and brushing. Generally, for an attractive, long and fluffy coat, pups should see a groomer every month for nail cutting, face trimming and ear cleaning. A puppy doodle is ready for grooming after they are two months old. It is imperative to note that matting can be minimized with proper grooming maintenance. Coats exceeding one inch require professional grooming every month and daily brushing at home. In contrast, coats that are less than 1 inch attracts professional grooming every two months plus three brushings every week. For essential maintenance services by a doodle owner or a professional, one ought to have essentials tools like slicker brush, nail clippers, and a comb.

What is the temperament of the a Goldendoodle?Because poodles and golden retrievers are both highly intelligent, golden doodles are also very trainable. Goldendoodles are usually very affectionate with people and other pets. They are human-oriented dogs, and tend to develop a strong bond with their owners and companions. Most goldendoodles are calm and easy going, but they are active dogs that do require exercise. Some goldendoodles like to swim, but not all. They tend to be great family pets and are known to be especially good with children.

Can I visit your kennel and see my puppy and its parents? We only allow visitors to the kennel pick up day. Protecting the health and safety of our pups is our first priority! Many breeders have been devastated by Parvo, this is something we just cant risk with our little ones! I understand that people want firsthand knowledge about the parents and kennel before they purchase a puppy. To allow you to see the parents and happy puppies I am happy to video chat with you and give you a virtual tour!

Do you breed/sell Mini size Goldendoodle puppies?Yes.

Why are your prices higher than those of some other breeders? We do things a little differently from other breeders, our doodles don't got home until the are between 10-12 weeks, this is because we put all of our puppies through training with a professional trainer starting at 4 weeks and then at 8 weeks they go through intensive training until they are ready for their new home between 10-12 weeks, at this point, they are fully trained. It is because of this that our prices may seem a bit higher than some breeders, but it is because of what we put into our pups and the training cost! However, if you add up the cost of hiring a professional puppy trainer, our cost is far less, as most trainers charge between 2000-4000 for 7-8 weeks of puppy training by itself. While it increases our cost, we feel it is an important step toward giving our clients the best puppy experience possible

What is the difference in Standard sized and Mini sized Doodles? The size of the Dood depends on its parentage. A general rule of thumb is to add both the parents weights together and divide by 2 to get an average adult weight on the puppies. Within any litter there may be puppies that fall above or below the projected adult weights. Standard - A Goldendoodle that is predicted to be 45 lbs or more at adulthood. Medium - A Goldendoodle that is predicted to be 30-45 lbs at adulthood. Miniature - A Goldendoodle that is predicted to be 15-30 lbs at adulthood.
